Why are we launching the Unstoppable Initiative?

Through Unstoppable, New Horizon Church will continue helping people throughout the Triangle and beyond Encounter God and Engage in Community.  God is doing amazing things through the ministry of New Horizon—marriages are being restored; kids, teens, and adults are finding a relationship with Jesus Christ; addictions are being broken; people with a lifetime of hurt are finding healing; the poor are being served; and the hopeless are finding hope.  The last thing any of us want is for this kind of life change to stop.

Give to Unstoppable:

What do we hope to accomplish through Unstoppable?

There are three objectives for Unstoppable:

1. Expand our current ministry capacity by recapturing dollars currently being used for the monthly mortgage and moving those dollars towards ministry efforts including:
        •    additional staff for New Horizon Kids, Spiked Students, Community & Care, and administration
        •    increased budgets for supplies and outreach in kids and teen areas
        •    athletic fields and courts for teen ministry and community outreach

2. Construct a 10,000 sq. ft. building dedicated to New Horizon Kids. By doing this, we will be able to reach maximum capacity in the main auditorium.

3. Expand our local and global missions.

What will it take to accomplish the objectives of Unstoppable?
To accomplish all of the objectives above, Unstoppable must generate $2.4 million over a three-year period.  As commitments come in they will be utilized as follows:

How does Unstoppable affect our plans for reaching 5,000 people in 5 locations?

Unstoppable will move us toward our long term vision of seeing 5,000 people Encounter God and Engage in Community throughout the Triangle and beyond.  In order to launch successful campuses, we must have a strong broadcast campus (our current location).  Unstoppable will allow us to maximize our current facility and build staff and systems to begin expanding our ministry to other locations.

When will construction begin on the new Kids building?

The first objective of Unstoppable is to expand our ministry capacity to help more people encounter God and engage in community.  Once we’ve expanded our ministry capacity with the first $1.2 million, as the next $1 million is received, we will take another year of planning and design.  Due to the variables involved in construction it could take another one to two years from the planning and design stage to begin construction.

Why don’t we have fundraisers to raise the money for Unstoppable?

Fundraisers do not challenge us to offer our lives as a living sacrifice--Romans 12:1.  God calls us not only to tithe for the sake of the ministry and mission of the church, but also to bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes and special gifts, and all the choice possessions you have vowed to the LORD. Deuteronomy 12:11.  Calling our church to sacrificial giving is God’s design for building buildings and ministry initiatives.  It is up to us as followers of Jesus to support the spreading of the Gospel and the Truth--and they accept nothing from people who are not believers. So we ourselves should support them so that we can be their partners as they teach the truth. 3 John 1:7-8.

Does my commitment to Unstoppable come out of my tithe?

Your commitment to Unstoppable is above and beyond your tithe to the operating budget.  This is considered a sacrificial commitment as demonstrated by King David in 2 Samuel 24:24 when he wrote, “I will not offer to God that which costs me nothing.”  Sacrificial giving requires a reassessment of our spending and lifestyle, and a readjustment of our priorities.

Unstoppable FAQs

How will I know how much to give to Unstoppable?

Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer.  Your gift can be in any amount and in any form you and your family may choose.  While most gifts will be made in cash, some may prefer to give gifts such as stocks, bonds, real estate, mutual funds, etc.  The most important thing is that you and your family make prayer a priority—ask God what He wants you to do and then do it.

How will I give my commitment to Unstoppable?

You may give weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, or in a lump sum.  Most families prefer a system of regular giving.  Gifts may be made through the weekend offering, online, mailed in offering envelopes, automatic bank check, or automatic bank draft.

When will I be asked to make my commitment to Unstoppable?

On Sunday, November 22 , we will bring our commitments to Unstoppable to the altar during both the 9:30am and 11am services.  Please take the weeks leading up to November 22 to pray about what God is calling you to commit to this initiative.  Commitments will also be received during the following week.  Remember commitments will span a three-year period.

When will I begin giving my contribution to Unstoppable?

On Sunday, December 6, we’re asking everyone to bring their initial gift to Unstoppable.  Many people will make this first contribution a significant portion of their commitment if possible.  A large initial offering to Unstoppable will allow us to kick start our ministry expansion efforts and make our first contribution to our local and global missions.

What if I’m not ready to commit to Unstoppable on November 22?

Wait until God gives you the peace, leading and conviction to make a commitment. Please don’t feel man-made pressure in this. You can give to the campaign even without having made a commitment.

Can commitments to Unstoppable be changed, if necessary?

Yes, you may either increase or decrease your commitment at any time by simply contacting the church office.

I have a question about Unstoppable that has not been answered here, what do I do?

UNSTOPPABLE STORIES

M25 Impact:

This email came through our general email box.  It came from Lucy, a recipient of M25 food & personal care items.  Her email speaks volumes and impacted us greatly!

"....Truly if I could put into words what you all did yesterday, it would be: making me feel like a Queen for a day, and was blessed to share in a sea of people whose love for God radiated in every face.  I was praising his name all the way home.  Thank you sooo very much!"

C.C. Spaulding Coats/Shoes Project:

"Leah, I work with the parent of one of the CC Spaulding kids. She came into work showing the voucher to our co-workers (not knowing that I was a member of New Horizon). She was overwhelmed! She said that her little girl was so excited and could not wait to pick out her coat. She told us how she has seen children standing in the cold waiting for the bus, many with no coat. I have always been proud of my church and my church family but this day, I was not only proud but also thankful to be the member of an UNSTOPPABLE church. Thank you Jesus!"

FROM KIDS:

"I've been inviting a cooworker and her kids for some time to attend New Horizon.  Last weekend they came, and her kids LOVED it.  On Monday I had other co-workers asking about the church because my co-worker that attended couldnt stop sharing about her expierence."
